Artistic Collegium

Oregon Music Festival's Artistic Collegium is a collective of artists whose contribution and dedication to the festival makes it rich and unique.  The Collegium represents a tremendous artistic, professional and networking resource spreading over three continents. Nearly three dozen artists around the globe belong to the Collegium -- and the list is growing.  Highly accomplished and respected in their specialty, these individuals represent OMF’s greatest artistic resource.  Members of the Collegium perform as soloists with the orchestras, in recital, or a chamber music ensemble.

Dimitri Ashkenazy, clarinet, Director; Joan Kwuon, violin (Korea); Alexander Kobrin, piano (Russia); Carla Trynchuk, violin (Canada), Director of String Program; Travis Hatton, conductor (USA) Principal Conductor, Orpheus Academy; David Jacobs, conductor (USA), OMF Resident Conductor; Luca Benucci, French Horn (Italy(; Igor Petrushevski, violin (Austria/Russia), Birgit Kolar, violin (Austria); Alexander Velinzon, violin (USA/Russia); Franko Bozac, accordion (Croatia); Mario Hossen, violin (Bulgaria/Austria); Charlene Farrugia, piano (Malta); Jan Simon, piano (Czech Republic), etc.

The Repertoire

Artistic Collegium specializes in chamber music.  Its repertoire includes works by the season's featured composers and involves artists that are currently in residence.  The ensemble varies in size and make-up, ranging from two to sixteen - depending on the requirements of the particular work - and includes a mixture of local and guest artists. The Collegium's performing ensemble is led by the Swiss clarinetist Dimitri Ashkenazy.
