Oregon Music Festival is currently accepting applications for the Concertmaster position of Orpheus Academy Orchestra. Applications are open until filled.
OMF is seeking applicants for the position of Concertmaster with its scholarship-based youth orchestra for the 2017 season. Qualified applicants will be approximately 20-28 years old, have an undergraduate degree or equivalent in violin performance, two or more years of experience as concertmaster of a university symphony or urban youth orchestra, preferably be enrolled in a graduate performance program, and exhibit exceptional talent as a performer with strong leadership abilities and an affinity for teaching.
This is a three-week, paid position; the engagement extends June 12 to July 1, 2017 in Portland, Oregon and consists of standard concertmaster duties, possible solo appearance with the orchestra and concert(s) with the festival Artistic Collegium (chamber music group consisting of festival resident artists). OMF offers competitive pay. Appointee from out of town will also receive paid travel expense, room and board.
