Violist Charlton Lee founded Del Sol after his time working in an experimental physics group at Fermilab. He wanted to bring his scientific passion for exploration to a string quartet. Del Sol now is based out of San Francisco and is at the cutting edge of modern performance with concerts both nationally and internationally. They look to bring a fresh energy, freedom, and precision to their diverse repertoire. James Shields, principal clarinetist of Oregon Symphony, joins Del Sol in the Oregon premiere of Osvaldo Golijov's epic work for clarinet and string quartet, The Dreams and Prayers of Isaac the Blind.
