The focus composers of OMF 2016 represent two diverse and contrasting concepts of composition: Schumann, the quintessential Romantic and Stravinsky who played with a kaleidoscopic picture of neo-styles of the early 20th century. These two composers then, define two stylistic polarities that the festival explores. Why the two in particular? Explains Zvonimir Hacko,the festival's Artistic Director: "It gives one a sense of time travel - and makes us realize how wonderful it is to hear the actual music often mentioned but not as frequently performed."
