Three masterworks pay homage to the art of music: Vaughan Williams' sublime Serenade to Music; Schubert's "Unfinished Symphony"; and Zoltan Kodaly's dramatic Te Deum. Twenty vocal soloists, a hundred-strong choir and a full symphony orchestra will, no doubt, bring the house down!
OMF 2018 SEASON IN REVIEW
Over 250 musicians performed for close to 16,000 audience members during the month-long festival: some 40 soloists, conductors, dancers and choreographers; three orchestras, a chorus, and four chamber music ensembles took part. They came from Brazil, Switzerland, Italy, Croatia, Austria, Iceland, Serbia, Korea, Czech Republic, Canada as well as from around the U.S., and performed repertoire that ranged from Haydn and Shostakovich to Oregon premieres of contemporary works by Missy Mazzoli, Peteris Vasks and Steve Reich. The festival was an hommage to Swiss patron and conductor Paul Sacher.
