The Director develops and implements all marketing, communications and fundraising strategies and leads all individual, foundation, corporate, government, and special events fundraising efforts of OMF. He/she is a member of the festival's senior management team.
Develops and implements all marketing and communications activities, including media relations, publications and advertising to support the OMF's strategic mission and long-range plan to increase awareness, ticket sales and attendance at OMF events and concerts.
Oversees brand development and assures consistent implementation in all areas with input of OMF constituencies, management team and orchestra leadership. Works with and manage outside vendors to effect the look and messaging used to reflect OMF on all communication platforms.
Administers a strategically driven subscription, group, and single ticket sales program to meet institutional needs for earned revenue and attendance, using direct mail, social media, email marketing, digital, print, radio and TV advertising, e-commerce, PR, special events/receptions, and promotions.
Oversees development of OMF website, digital and social media and any e-commerce activities.
Assists in the development and serves as liaison of the marketing committee, incorporating committee's support of strategic and tactical marketing initiatives into the marketing planning process.
Prepares and maintain operating budgets for marketing and communications activities, and develop revenue and expense budgets. Work with the General Manager on budget assumptions, documentation, and analysis. Prepare financial forecasts and reports.
Creates and implement patron loyalty and retention initiatives.
Oversees the timely development and production of all marketing and promotional materials for renewal and acquisition subscription campaigns, individual concerts, tours, educational activities and other OMF events.
Cultivates relationships with members of the news media locally, nationally and internationally; supervises any marketing staff.
Negotiates and maintains contact with outside vendors for direct mail, design and printing services; advertising, etc., to ensure competitive pricing and the quality of their work. Represents OMF and collaborates with a wide range of constituencies such as the local cultural alliances, Rotary Clubs and other cultural organizations in arts advocacy support.
Responsible and accountable for the planning, implementation, and management of the festival’s overall fundraising program, including the annual fund, special projects, and all other contributed revenue; including any comprehensive future campaigns.
Designs and implements annual and multi-year strategies to achieve or exceed the festival’s fundraising goals, ensuring that the Festival follows best practices and utilizes volunteers and staff effectively.
Plays a key role in identifying, engaging, and serving members of the governance structure. Shares primary responsibility for staffing the Board of Directors with the President and Festival Director and oversees the staffing of the Board of Consultants and the Council of Advisors.
The Marketing/Development Director surpasses development objectives by successfully recruiting, motivating and supervising the development staff.
Ensures that the systems and procedures are in place for donor cultivation and recognition; recording and acknowledgement of gifts; research and prospect management; compliance with all grant and sponsorship requirements; and events. S/he develops and monitors the development department budget.
